Steve Cunio - New Beginnings

My life. How I deal with the everyday events, emotions and trials. How I keep strong in the face of adversity and sometimes pure downright evil.

For David - 09 06 06 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own -U2

Lyrics - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - U2

Tough, you think you’ve got the stuff
You’re telling me and anyone
You’re hard enough

You don’t have to put up a fight
You don’t have to always be right
Let me take some of the punches
For you tonight

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You don’t have to go it alone

And it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you when I don’t pick up the phone
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own

We fight all the time
You and I… that’s alright
We’re the same soul
I don’t need… I don’t need to hear you say
That if we weren’t so alike
You’d like me a whole lot more

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You don’t have to go it alone

And it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you when I don’t pick up the phone
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own

I know that we don’t talk
I’m sick of it all
Can - you - hear - me – when – I -
Sing, you’re the reason I sing
You’re the reason why the opera is in me…

Where are we now?
I’ve got to let you know
A house still doesn’t make a home
Don’t leave me here alone...

And it’s you when I look in the mirror
And it’s you that makes it hard to let go
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own
Sometimes you can’t make it
The best you can do is to fake it
Sometimes you can’t make it on your own

Fantastic Week

Had a great week!

Gave Blood

Gave Blood on Thursday and the was chatting to nurse Catherine about The Smiths. Her colleague came over and joined in mentioning where her son works. It only turns out he works with Aaron, who me and Rachel France met randomly when out a few weeks ago. Which is when I did my rendition of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics -- and people got up and danced!! Small world.

Tiger Lounge

Went out to Tiger Lounge on Friday after giving up queuing for South. Clint Boon had read a request I'd made for 'I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester' and so I'd thought I'd pop down -- it was a running joke throughout the show!

Ended up at TL though and dancing with Rach and Em at the end of the night. New friends! Swapped numbers and will be going to Em's birthday party soon!

Odd

All smiles on Sunday. Went to Urbis and saw Bex doing her face painting as Cheshire Cats. Lovely to see her again. Bex is a fantastic hypnotherapist too and I highly recommend her if you need to change your life in any way. She's great!

Went to Odd for tea. Bumped into some lovely people from Oz - Daniella, Lily and Aziz. Got chatting to two lovely girls Laura and Sophie and their friends Ben and Graham. Told them about Freecycle as Graham needs to refurnish his flat due to a recent trauma. Loved chatting to them. Sophie's really into Bon Jovi which was odd too since I'm trying to suss out an acoustic version to do at the folk club. I got stuck in the Bon Jovi traffic later on and couldn't sleep as usual... don't know what's up with me.. Just kept gettin' up every couple of hours, pretty frustrated and practiced a bit more.

The Smiths

Mark, Mandy and Steve came in with Mike, ex-Smiths drummer. We've been out for a drink before but this is the first time he's gone on bended knee and kissed my hand before leaving! twas a bit of a joke about my long hair!

Went to the Bay Horse with Steve and into Bluu where met up with Dave Bishop.

So all in all an eventful weekend.
